A chuva que atinge o Rio desde a tarde de segunda-feira (5) causou mortes, alagamentos e muitos prejuízos para o estado e a cidade do Rio. Segundo o Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia (Inmet), foi registrado na segunda e nesta terça (6) o maior volume de chuva dos últimos 30 anos. Até o início desta tarde, 79 pessoas haviam morrido por conta da chuva.
O governador do Rio, Sérgio Cabral, destacou que a “grande causa” das mortes são as ocupações irregulares. “Entre os mortos, todos praticamente (estavam) em áreas de risco”, disse, em entrevista por telefone à Globo News, no começo da tarde desta terça-feira (6). “Pediria pelo amor de Deus que as pessoas que estão em áreas de risco saiam, procurem centros sociais”, completou.
