Morre Zilda Arns. Brasil perde uma grande lutadora pela vida das crianças e dos idosos.

A coordenadora internacional da Pastoral da Criança, Zilda Arns Neuman, 75 anos, morreu no terremoto que atingiu o Haiti nesta terça-feira, 12. A informação foi divulgada pelo gabinete do senador Flávio José Arns, sobrinho de Zilda.

Segundo o chefe de gabinete da presidência da República, Gilberto Carvalho, a médica caminhava pelas ruas de Porto Príncipe, com dois soldados do exército brasileiro, que a acompanhavam e lhe traduziam o idioma francês. Drª Zilda se encontrava no país para uma missão da Pastoral da Criança.

A CNBB sensibilizada pelo ocorrido enviou o secretário-geral da CNBB, dom Dimas Lara Barbosa, para Porto Príncipe, em um voo da Força Aérea Brasileira (FAB).

Nascida na cidade de Forquilhinha (SC), Zilda Arns formou-se médica na Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR), em Curitiba, onde reside desde os 12 anos de idade. Ao longo de sua carreira, em instituições públicas e, desde 1983, em organizações da sociedade civil, fez da profissão uma missão de fé e vida.
Que todos os brasileiros possam olhar a luta de Zilda para ter coragem de tambem contribuir um pouco pelas VIDA das crianças no mundo inteiro.
